Argireline
Botox effects specific muscles, but argiriline effects the entire face possibly increasing facial sag, over time. Argiriline inhibits the neurotransmitters that maintain facial firmness.
Coal Tar
Low-level exposure may cause cancer. Try Pine Tar as a comparable option.
Dyes & Colorants (d & c and other coal tar dyes)
Both contain carcinogens and may cause acne and skin irritations. Some contain aluminums. Low-level exposure may lead to cancer.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Petroleum by-product. May cause serious irritation or trigger allergic response.
DEA ingredients
All ingredients followed by the letters DEA are suspected of leading to cancer.
Fragrance or Fragrance oils
These are highly allergenic, contain large quantities of toxins and chemicals. When a product is marketed as fragrance-free it actually means that chemicals have been added to mask to odor of the products' ingredients.
Glycerin
Glycerin without the word "vegetable" before it is usually a petrochemical.
Glycerol Stearate
Tendency to promote free-radicals and inhibit prostaglandins.
Urea
Highly irritating, releases formaldehyde, toxic.
SLSs - Laureth or Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl or Saureth Sulfate (anything with laureth, laurate or lauryl extensions)
Highly carcinogenic. May cause skin irritations. Contains ammonium salts, and may cause acne or even mutations. Possibly tainted with many toxins during the manufacturing process.
Octyl Stearate
Promotes acne, contact dermatitis, and allergic reactions.
Paba
May cause photosensitivity and is being studied for carcinogenic implications.
Parabens
These are petrochemicals. They are estrogenic, carcinogenic, and allergenic.
Petroleum
Promote acne. May be carcinogenic. Causes long term dry skin and is a respiratory toxin. (commonly found as petrolatum, mineral oils, and vaseline)
Phenonip
A blend of the synthetic preservatives phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben & isobutylparaben.
Stearic (acids, als, & others)
Carcinogenic. Comedogenic.
Talc
May contain asbestos. DO NOT use on babies.
